Mr. Willie Nash Blanton, 84, of Bostic, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at Hospice House, Forest City.
He was the son of Claude and Zennie Chapman Blanton, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Catherine Chapman, Ruth McEntire, and Faye Chapman; and a brother, Joe Blanton. Willie was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church where he headed the Poor Man's Suppers and provided homegrown vegetables and made the best cornbread in the whole county. He retired from logging in 1995 and hauled cars to the sale for various dealers until 2010. Willie was a lover of bluegrass music, camping, and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Stacey Blanton; his daughter Pam Blanton Sisk and her husband Gene, of Bostic; his son, Michael Blanton and his wife Teresa, of Bostic; there are 5 grandchildren, Sarah Blanton Edwards and her husband Andy, Kimberly Blanton Smith and her husband Jon, Jeremy Sisk and his wife Ashley, Amy Sisk Wilkie and her husband Eric, and John Sisk and his wife Savannah; there are 7 great grandchildren, Zander, Jebson, Grayson, Logan, Felicity, Alyssa, and Carter.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Sunshine United Methodist Church. The Rev. Teresa Ramsey Blanton and Rev. Keys Pendleton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeremy Sisk, John Sisk, Zander Smith, Eric Wilkie, Jon Smith, and Andy Edwards.
The Visitation will from 5 pm until 7 pm Wednesday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
