Robert Arnold "Wes" Smith, 78

Robert Arnold "Wes" Smith, 78, of Sunshine, died Sunday, August 18, 2024.

He was the son of the late Horace and Bertie Lee Stallings Smith. Wes retired from North Carolina Department of Transportation after many years there.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie Ramsey Smith; his sons, Conway Smith and his wife Misty, of Sunshine, and William Durant Smith and his wife Tracy, of Bostic; his sister, Eva Mae Bumgarner of Casar; his brother, Paul C. Smith of Rutherfordton; his granddaughter, Jessie Lynn Smith; and a great granddaughter, Maelynn Jane Weaver.

The Funeral will be conducted at 3:00 pm Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church. The Rev. Tommy Cook and Rev. Allen Terry will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The pallbearers are Chad Smith, Lee Smith, Paul Smith Jr., Andrew Smith, Ronnie Bumgarner, and Chris Self. 

The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Tuesday at Cooper Springs Congregational Holiness Church, 5840 Bostic Sunshine Highway, Bostic.
