Wesley Hamrick, 54

Wesley Hamrick, 54, of Rutherfordton, died Sunday, December 17, 2023.

He was the son of Patricia McDade Hamrick of Shelby, and Lowell Hamrick of Ellenboro. Wesley was working at NC Department of Transportation and had worked there over 20 years. He was a Gulf War Marine veteran, a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and a Mason. He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathon Wesley Hamrick; and a grandson, Carter Shires.  

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Jennifer Steadman Hamrick; and a stepson, Thomas Dembicki of Rutherfordton; a stepdaughter, Amber Shires of Ellenboro; there are 2 grandchildren, Leeah Dembicki and Emmy Shires. 

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Sam Henderson and Ted Hawkins will officiate. The Rutherford County Honor Guard will render Military Rites at the grave. Pallbearers are Michael Blanton, Todd Lavender, Ted Hawkins, Jason Pittman, Kenny Mace, and Scott Bailey.

The Visitation will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Family Life Center immediately following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
