Mr. Tommy Philbeck, 72, of Bostic, died Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Charles Perry Philbeck and Ruth Philbeck, and was also preceded in death by a stepson, Samuel Kyle Bridges. Tommy was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where he served in several capacities. He was a former Chief of the Cherry Mountain Fire Department. He was a volunteer with the Washburn Outreach Center and was active in prison ministries. Tommy took care of many of his elderly neighbors in providing wood and other help to them.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Philbeck; his son, Bryan Philbeck and wife Carol, of Sunshine; his stepdaughter, Nicole Bailey and husband Chad, of Bostic; his brother, Bill Philbeck and wife Linda, of Bostic; his sisters, Doris Toney of Golden Valley, and Linda Hardin and husband Joe, of Shingle Hollow; his mother-in-law, Nancy Kennedy Walker of Ellenboro; there are 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:30 pm Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Salem United Methodist Church. The Rev. Sam Burleson will officiate.
The Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 2:15 pm Sunday in the church sanctuary prior to the service.
