Sue Toney Brooks, 83

Sue Toney Brooks, 83, of Mooresboro, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

She was the widow of James Edwin Brooks, and a daughter of the late John Henry Toney and Mallie McCurry Toney. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kathy Brooks; 2 sisters, Zora Randall and Daisy Toney; and a brother, Jackie Toney. Sue was a faithful member of Race Path Baptist Church for over 60 years, and served as a teacher's assistant at Ellenboro Elementary School. 

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Hoppes(Shannon) of Ellenboro; her son, Danny Brooks(Danielle) of Mooresboro; her brother, Paul Toney of Bostic; there are 7 grandchildren, Ashely Honeycutt(David), Casey Brooks(Jessie), Matthew McDaniel(Kaitlin), Brooke McDaniel(Chad), Keltcie King(Tucker), Christy Jordan(Noel), and Travis Reep(Krissy); and 18 great grandchildren. 

The Funeral will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Race Path Baptist Church. The Rev. Randall Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Tucker King, Craig Ledford, Bruce Greene, and Jeff Brooks. 

The Visitation will be from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm Saturday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
