Robynn Spence

Ms. Robynn Lowe Spence, 46, of Rutherfordton, the Rutherford County Clerk of Superior Court, died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Mission Hospitals, Asheville.
She was the daughter of Robbie and Diane Lowe of Charlotte, and was a native of North Augusta, SC. She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and a member of the Republican Party; and was a member of the RTR Board. Robynn graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1984, she attended Central Piedmont Community College and ICC. She worked at the Mecklenburg County Clerk of Courts Office from 1990-1993, Rutherford County Clerk of Court 1993-2002, Rutherford County Sheriff's Office from 2002-2006, the Peter Lane Law Office from 2002-2004, the Rutherford County Department of Social Services from 2004-2008, and was elected and  has served as Rutherford County Clerk of Superior Court since 2008.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughters, Savanna Spence of the home, and Britt Nabors of Charlotte; her sister, Nikki Floyd of Lincolnton; her brother, Brett Lowe of Monroe; and her fiancée, Chadd Murray.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Friday, February 21, 2014 at Florence Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Scott will officiate. Savanna Spence, Mike Hager, and Megan Long will all provide Eulogies. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rutherford County Clerk of Court Staff, Attorneys, Judges, Register of Deeds Staff, District Attorney Staff and Law Enforcement. Active pallbearers will be Sam Williams, Kevin Hodge, Darren Vassey, Billy Scoggins, Kelly Aldridge, and Ronnie Bailey.
A private burial service was held at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm Thursday at Florence Baptist Church, 201 South Broadway, Forest City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Path Shelter, to assist women and children who are victims of domestic violence; PO Box 1619, Forest City, NC 28043.
