Rev. James "Jim" McCurry, 90

Rev. James "Jim" McCurry, 90, of Rutherfordton, died Friday, December 29, 2023.

Jim was the widower of Edna Eplee McCurry, and a son of the late Wilson and Jennie Yelton McCurry. In addition he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky McCurry; 2 sisters, Grace Absher, and Ida Elizabeth "Lib" Coggins; and his brothers, Eric McCurry and Wayne McCurry. He was a dedicated member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, and had retired from Hanes/Sara Lee many years ago.

He is survived by his son, Dean McCurry and his wife Penny, of Rutherfordton; a sister, Katherine Toney and her husband Johnny, of Golden Valley; a grandson, Benjamin McCurry and his wife Sarah; a stepgrandson, Brandon Harrill and his wife Amber; a great grandson, Bennett James McCurry; and step grandchildren, Mason Harrill and Bailee Harrill. 

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, January 6, 2023 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul White, Jr. and Rev. Jason Toney will officiate.

The Visitation will be from 9:45 am until 10:45 am Saturday at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Missions Fund, 801 Mt .Lebanon Church Road, Bostic, NC 28018.
