Paula Sundell, 54

Paula Lynn Sundell went home to be with Jesus. Paula loves Jesus and was a faithful disciple. Her goal in life was to love Him and the people who crossed her path. Daughter of James and Terryann Macke, sister of Marnie Macke, married to Eric Sundell, mother to Anna Sundell Smith and her husband, David, Lydia Sundell, and Samantha Sundell. Paula loved her church family at Liberty Baptist. She loved the kids at The Master's Academy, where she worked.

Paula was born on August 15, 1969 in Roseburg, Oregon. She attended Williamette University, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. The Lord drew her to North Carolina, where she fell in love with the people and beauty of the foothills. There, she met Eric, and after several years as his secretary, Paula and Eric were married at Liberty Baptist Church in September of 2000.

Soon, Paula became a loving mother to three girls, using every opportunity to point them to Jesus. Even though she only gave birth to three daughters, she adopted every child the Lord sent her, teaching, loving, and correcting them in the Lord as if they were her own. 

Paula's battle with cancer began in January of 2023. Thoughout the past year, her faith in Jesus continued to grow. Her prayer has always been that just one person would come to have a personal relationship with Jesus because of her story. Paula went to be with her Savior on February 5, 2024.

The Funeral will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Liberty Baptist Church. The Rev. Mack Testor, Rev. Owen Duncan, and Howie Lederfind will officiate.

The Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 2:45 pm Saturday at the church prior to the service.
