Ninevah "Dinkey" Greene, 80, of Bostic, died Friday, January 19, 2024. She was the youngest daughter of eight children of the late Marvin Edgar Beheler and Mary Ellen Hollifield Beheler. The Beheler Family lived at the still-standing homestead just off of Pea Ridge Rd in Bostic. At the time of Dinkey's death, one of her eight siblings still remains - a sister, Mrs. Martha "Mot" Swink of Bostic NC. The brothers and sisters who have preceded Dinkey in death are: Lemuel, Dorothy "Dot", Joyce, Tim, Frances, and D.C.
In addition to her sister, Dinkey is also survived by her husband of 41 years, David Greene of Bostic NC, their daughter Elizabeth Ladean of Kansas City, MO, and by so many nieces, nephews, cousins, and others that she felt in her heart were family.
Dinkey lived a life on her own terms and those that knew her, knew her well. Most would say she was quite the character, to put it mildly. She loved to get your attention, and was never at all afraid to let you know exactly what she thought or how she felt — always speaking without a filter. She loved getting to see snow, the color blue for her bedroom and the color orange for her kitchen. Her 1972 red Monte Carlo was her pride and joy. Betty Boop and Jeff Gordon were two of her favorites. Most won't forget Dinkey's delicious, and always perfectly made, chocolate oatmeal cookies, or how she bragged about and always wanted her husband David, to make his famous potato salad for her. In addition to her chocolate oatmeal cookies, most can't forget Dink’s knack for making homemade biscuits, or in her own words.... "bistics".
A lot of memories were made in Dinkey's life - she definitely left an impression on everyone she met. And, no matter what the impression was - good, not good, or somewhere in between - it won't be forgotten, and neither will she - because Dinkey was one of a kind.
