Nellie Long

Mrs. Nellie Murray Long, 74, of Bostic, died Monday, September 9, 2013 at Hospice House, Forest City.
She was the widow of Jim Long, and daughter of the late Boyd and Daisy Murray. She worked at Tanner Company for 30 years, and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Nellie loved yard sales and visits from her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Chapman and her husband Tommy, of Bostic, and Charlene Elmore and her husband Doug, of Lawndale; two sons, Tommy Long and his wife Marietta, and Jackie Long and his wife Angel, all of Bostic; two sisters, Susie Henson and Joyce Ramsey, both of Bostic; three brothers, Glen Murray, Fay Murray, and Danny Murray, all of Bostic; there are six grandchildren, Michael Long Jr, Ricky Long, Jeffrey Chapman, Garrett Toney, Amy Grooms, and Caleb Long; two step grandchildren, Alan Greene Jr., and Amanda Greene; eight great grandchildren, Michael Long, Carley Chapman, Colbey Chapman, Brooke Michaels, Deanna Toney, Kaylee Grooms, Bradley Toney, and Hallie Toney; and there are three step great grandchildren, Zachary Greene, Owen Greene, and Leland Greene.
The Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 pm Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Eugene Passmore will officiate. The body will lie in state thiry minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Brittain Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alton Arrowood, Tracy Short, Jeff Ferguson, Colin Henson, Jimmy Jones, and Davey Jones.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Wednesday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service, and at other times the family gather at her residence.
