Michael Shearer, 41

Michael George Shearer Jr., 41, of Bostic, along with his loyal dog companion Flokie, died on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. 

He was the son of Christine Penrose of Bostic and the late Michael G. Shearer, Sr. and was born in Keokuk, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joseph Penrose; grandparents, Millard and Ruth Deck, Larry Penrose and Ruth Johnson; his uncle Richie Shearer; and his aunt Diana Shearer Meredith. 

He is survived by his son, Krystchan D. Ledford of the home; his mother Christine Penrose and Dean Burrell; his sister, Dacia Shearer of Bostic; his brothers, Jarrett Penrose of Bostic and Jeremy Penrose of Clinton, IA; his grandmothers, Margaret Penrose of Bostic and Mary Hicks of Keokuk, IA; his niece Destinee and nephew Gadge Cash of Shelby; niece K'Lyn Shearer of the home; nieces Savanna Kuykendall of Golden Valley and Jaycee Penrose of Clinton, IA; his lifetime friend, Aarron Glasgow of Forest City; aunts Patty Seaver  and Tammy Penrose of Keokuk,IA, Nancy Jones of Forest City, and Erica Baker of VT; his uncles, Ernie Vaughn, John Vaughn, and Millard Deck all of Keokuk, IA, and Eric Deck of Prior Lake, MN; and many cousins. 

A Celebration of Life service is being planned for January 10, 2025, please check back with this website obituary for additional information.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christine Penrose, 311 Halsey Trail, Bostic, NC 28018 for the educational purposes of his son, Krystchan Ledford.
