Mrs. Margaret Callahan Morrison, 80, of Bostic, gifted with grace, compassion, and a serving heart, passed on Wednesday, August 12, 2015.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph Baxter Callahan and Annie Lee Crotts Callahan, and was raised by her foster parents, the late James Theodore Mayse and Mary Elizabeth Crotts Mayse. In addition to her parents and foster parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph L. Earley, and five brothers, Joseph, Rupert, Michael, and Herren Callahan, and Dan Harris, Sr. She retired from Doncaster-Tanner in 1995. Margaret was a member of Wilson Baptist Church where she served faithfully for most of her life in various roles including pianist and organist.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Yates "Buck" Morrison; her daughter, Brenda Mast and her husband Gary, of Dublin, PA; her son, Bruce Earley and his wife Beverly, of Rutherfordton; a brother, Don Harris of Forest City; a sister, Jane Campfield and her husband Jerry, of Forest City; 2 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Wilson Baptist Church. The Rev. Troy Dorsey, Rev. John Edwards, and Dr. Don McEntire will officiate. Burial will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Jeff Dobbins, Joey Callahan, Rusty Freeman, Tommy Freeman, Dan Harris, Jr., Jerry Smith, and Ronnie Wood.
The Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm Saturday at the church prior to the service.
The family would like to express the deepest gratitude to the staff of White Oak Manor for their tender loving care to Margaret during her 3 years there as a resident.
