Mrs. Mable S. Chapman, 100, 0f Gastonia,formerly of Rutherford County, died Friday, January 6, 2012 at Belaire Health Care Center, Gastonia.
She was the widow of James Arley Chapman, Sr. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and she served a Mission in the southern states.
She is survived by four sons, James A. Chapman, Jr. of Gastonia, George Chapman of New Mexico, John L. Chapman of British Columbia, and C. Steven Chapman of Colorado; a daughter, Ariane Christopherson of Utah; a brother, Merlin Sampson of Nevada; her sister, LouEtta Mortensen of Colorado; there are ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
A Burial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2012 at the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that flowers be taken to someone homebound or in a nursing facility to enjoy.
