Lavonne Murray, 57

Miss Lavonne Murray, 57, of Rutherfordton, died Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late Donald Harold "Big John" Murray, Sr. and Joann Martin Murray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepbrother, Brian McKinney and stepmother, Geraldine McKinney Murray. Lavonne was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and was the pianist at the Church Of The Exceptional. She was a 1981 Graduate of East Rutherford High School.
She is survived by her sister, Sheila Ponton of Sunshine; her brother, Donald Murray, Jr.  of Bostic; her stepsisters, Kathy McCurry and Teresa Harley both of Bostic; and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. The Rev. Joseph Ervin will officiate and Mattie Lackey will provide a Eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Marshall Robbins, David Robbins, George Robbins, Norman Murray, Jr., David Murray, and Jonathon Newton.
The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Friday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
