Mrs. Katie Lou Jones Wells, of Ellenboro, was born November 30, 1939 in Bostic, NC to the late Ralph and Kate Keever Jones. She went to her heavenly home on July 28, 2012.
She was united in marriage to Floyd D. Wells on June 17, 1961. She married the love of her life and they enjoyed over 51 years of marriage together. She loved the Lord and her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed making others laugh and brightened the lives of all she knew. She was an avid reader of God's word daily and enjoyed reading in general. She retired from Fasco after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of Walls Baptist Church, the Fellowship Sunday School class, and the Son Shiners senior group. She was a wonderful woman and a blessing to all she knew. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Ray Keever, Charles Jones, Willie "Pink" Jones, Arthur Lee Jones, Jerry Jones, Clifford Jones and David Jones; and a sister, Annie Belle Robbins.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Wells; two daughters, Amy Hoyle and her husband Norris, and Emily Williams, of Ellenboro; a son, Danny Wells of Bostic; two sisters, Emma Sue Ayers of Ellenboro, and Joanne Blankenship of Henrietta; four brothers, Bob Jones of Ellenboro, Rev. Perry Jones, Ted Jones, and John Jones, all of Forest City; two granddaughters, Allison Katie White and Jenny Sue Hoyle, both of Ellenboro; and a grandson, Chris Hoyle and his wife Haley, of Lawndale; two great grandcildren, Lily and Landry Hoyle, of Lawndale.
The Funeral will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Walls Baptist Church. Rev. David Philbeck and Dr. Robert Toney will officiate. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
