Mrs. Judy Duncan York, 71, of Ellenboro, died Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
She was the widow of Wayne York, and a daughter of the late Charles Duncan, Sr. and Annie Laura Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Louise Duncan, and a sister, Nancy Duncan. She retired as a secretary with the Department of Social Services where she had developed a lifetime family of friends. She loved to cook and entertain family and friends. She enjoyed going out to eat - especially new restaurants to "try something different". She had a love for music - she loved going to see bands, singing in the choir and playing the piano. No matter what life threw at her, she would respond, "It's a time."
Judy is survived by her son, Steve York and wife Missy, of Mooresboro; her brothers, Charles Duncan, Jr. and wife Nancy, of Crossville, TN, and John Duncan and wife Melanie, of Gastonia; her sisters, Sandra Biggerstaff and husband Bill, of Concord, and Susan Isenhour and husband Bill, of Purlear; her granddaughters, Grace and Katie York; a brother-in-law, Phil York and wife Cathy, of Ellenboro; and 10 nieces and nephews.
