Jesse Bill Hardin, 83

Mr. Jesse Bill Hardin, 83, of Forest City, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at White Oak Manor, Rutherfordton.
He was the son of the late Worth and Patti Hardin, and was also preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Marie Porter and Myrtice Harrill; and 2 brothers, Hoyle Hardin and Jim Hardin. He was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, served in the US Army as an MP in Germany, he was a longtime member of the Forest City Jaycees, a member of Salem UMC, an avid Nascar fan and a devoted father and grandfather. Bill was manager of M & J Finance for a number of years and later worked in local automobile sales at Blanton Ford, Frazier Ford and Joe Waters Honda.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff Hardin and wife Rhonda, of Bostic, and Stan Hardin and wife Susan, of Forest City; the children's mother, Betty Brewer Hartley; his brother, Jack Hardin and wife Carol, of Calabash; 4 grandchildren, Lauren Hutchins and husband W.D., Brent Hardin and wife Ashley, Corbin Hardin, and Cragan Hardin; there are 2 great grandchildren, Julia and William Hutchins.
The Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 pm Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Salem United Methodist Church. The Rev. Sam Burleson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are W.D Hutchins, Corbin Hardin, Brent Hardin, Phil Hardin, Ronnie Porter, and Tommy Porter.
The Visitation will be held from 2:45 pm until 3:45 pm Thursday in the Salem UMC Fellowship Hall prior to the service, at other times the family will gather at the residence of Jeff and Rhonda Hardin on Olde Cobblestone Drive, Bostic.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, PO Box 220, Bostic, NC or Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
