Jay Ferris

Mr. Jay Ferris, 74, of Golden Valley, died Thursday, June 13, 2013 from complications arising from colon cancer.
He was the son of the late Edwin and Katherine Norris Ferris. He was born in Greenwich, CT and attended Greenwich High School and graduated from the University of Connecticut. He lived on the Connecticut coast for many years before moving to the mountains of North Carolina in 1993. Jay was an Engineer, a writer, politician, builder, blogger (www.lovinglikegod.com), inventor, and innovator, but he will be best remembered for having a heart for The Lord. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jay is survived by his wife, Carleen Ferris; two daughters, Heather Ferris of East Hampton, CT, and Melissa Stolasz of Bristol, RI; two sons, Tim Ferris of Bostic, and William Ferris of The Woodlands, TX; a sister, Donna Sutton of Wilmington; and a brother, Ned Ferris; there are three grandchildren, Sasha Stolasz, Theodore James Stolasz, and Luca Ferris.
The family is planning a Memorial Service to be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, July 7, 2013 on the grounds of the family homeplace, 154 Havilah Drive, Golden Valley.
