Janet Turner, 68

Janet Turner, 68, of Golden Valley, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

She was the widow of J.C. Turner, and a daughter of the late James and Louise Atchley. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Ledbetter and her brother Billy Atchley. She was a dedicated member of Fairview Baptist Church. 

She was a devoted Christian who always put her family and others first. She started her career at Broyhill Furniture but found her true calling and God's purpose for her life when she became a nurse.

She was a caretaker in every sense of the word and would never shy away from offering medical help to those in the community and in her church. She was also an avid gardener and canner, always growing more than she would ever eat, just so she had enough to can and give to her friends and family.

Janet is survived by her sons, Jason Pintuff and his wife Susan, of Pittsboro, and Justin Pintuff and his wife Rebecca, of Ellenboro; her sister, Patsy Thompson and her husband Joel, of Rutherfordton; her grandchildren, Jenna Pintuff, Lily Pintuff, Reid Pintuff, Maci Pintuff, and Caroline Pintuff; and many nieces and nephews. 

The Funeral will be conducted at 12:00 pm Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Fairview Baptist Church. The Rev. David Ledford will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Pintuff, Justin Pintuff, Randy Head, Wayne Van Dyke, Tim Hoyle, and Eric Leonard.

The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 7 pm Friday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
