Elaine Oakes, 76

Elaine Oakes, 76, of Ellenboro, died Saturday, January 7, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late George and Jane B. Oakes. Elaine is survived by her sister, Janice Brewington, and husband, Keith, of Concord, as well as two nieces and a great-nephew.

Elaine was a 1968 graduate of Appalachian State University. For many years she was self-employed as a ceramic artist and created many specialty pieces for dog lovers. She was a member of the Norwegian Elkhound Club and the Day Lily Club.

A Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.

Immediately following the visitation the burial will take place at Duncan's Creek Church Cemetery, and the family  and friends will congregate at the Duncan's Creek Church Fellowship Hall for refreshments.
