James Richard Williams, 78

James Richard Williams, 78, of Union Mills, died Thursday, December 30, 2021.

He was the son of the late Glenn and Kathleen Dickerson Williams. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Christine Hostetter. Richard was a member of Centennial UMC and was a Vietnam veteran having served in the Air Force. He loved life, family, flag and country.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Ingle Williams; his stepson, Charles McCurry and his wife Jane, of Ellenboro; his brother Robert Glen Williams and his wife Sara, of Arden; there are 5 grandchildren, Seth, Chad, Madison, Jennifer, and Tyler; 2 great grandchildren, Chloe and William; there are several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Ramsey and Dr. Jim Richardson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Centennial UMC Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Joel Ingle, Ken Harris, Kelly Ingle, Livingston Ingle, Scott Clary, Clint Smart, Junior Barkley, and Kyle Smart.

The Visitation will be from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. The family requests that masks be worn and social distancing observed.
