James M. "Jim" Biggerstaff, 93

Mr. James M. "Jim" Biggerstaff, 93, of Belmont, died Sunday, July 28, 2019.
He was the widower of Frances Biggerstaff, and a son of the late Charlie Mills Biggerstaff and Winnie Gettys Biggerstaff. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Dowdy; his sister, Mary Lela Hubbard; and his 3 brothers, John Howard Biggerstaff, Rev. William Gettys Biggerstaff, and Robert Clyde Biggerstaff. Jim was a World War II veteran, having served in the US Navy. During his military career, Jim married the Love of his life, Frances on October 5, 1944. He was a member of Adaville Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Larry James Biggerstaff and wife Delia Ann, of Belmont; his grandson, Michael Biggerstaff and wife Lori; 5 great grandchildren, Daniel and wife Meredith, Keisha, Nicholas, Larry and Victoria; 2 great great grandchildren, Marleigh and Avery; and several nieces and nephews.
A Service to Celebrate his life will be conducted at 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Adaville Baptist Church. The Rev. Marvin Green will officiate and Myles Biggerstaff will provide a Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Military Rites rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Daniel Biggerstaff, Larry Dowdy, Myles Biggerstaff, Russell Newton, Bobby Bishop, and John Campbell.
The Visitation will be from 1:30 pm until 2:45 pm Wednesday in the church prior to the service.
