James Mark Grice

James Mark Grice

Mr. James Mark Grice, 68, of Golden Valley Church Road, Golden Valley, died Saturday, June 25, 2011.
He was the son of the late Tom Grice, and the late Theoda Meeks; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Grice; a stepsister, Joanne Bottorff; and a stepbrother, Bob Harris. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, a member of the Gold Prospectors of America, and a US Army Veteran. He was a retired insurance salesman in Florida and North Carolina, having worked with Gulf Life Insurance and Independent Life Insurance Company.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Wright Grice; two sons, Mark Grice Jr. and his wife Jaci, of Jacksonville, FL, and Duane Grice and his wife Sharon, of Callahan,FL; a stepson, Chris Philbeck of Shelby; his stepfather, John M. Meeks of Statesboro, GA; three sisters, Linda Holder and her husband Jack, of Simpsonville,SC, Mary Secrist of Wilmington, NC, and Trisha Frost of North Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, C.F. Grice  and his wife Brenda, of Florence, SC;  two stepsisters, Linda Thrift and her husband Jimmy, and Denise Deaton and her husband Levi, all of Jacksonville, FL; a stepbrother, Frank Meeks and his wife Joan, of Statesboro, GA; a special friend, Jackie Brunson; Six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 29,2 011 at Fairview Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
The Visitation will be from 6 PM until 8 PM Tuesday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
