Mr. Jack R. Rogers, 86, of Bostic, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Oak Grove Nursing Center.
He was the son of the late Carson and Alexena Rogers. He was born in Columbia, SC, and a member of Salem United Methodist Church where he was in the choir and served as a Sunday School teacher for over 20 years. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1951, and was a Naval Air Corps veteran of the WWII era. Jack retired from Burlington Industries. He was an avid car enthusiast, he raced, worked on and admired them. He truly loved and enjoyed his family, his home, his cars, and his church family.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Polly Fitch Rogers; his daughter, Mary Ann Johnson and her husband Jeff, of Burlington; his son, Carson Albert Rogers of the home. Pop was adored by his four grandchildren, Josh Johnson and his wife Sara, Carson Johnson, Abby R. Finnin and her husband Matt, and Amanda R. Greene and her husband Bubba: and his two great grandchildren, Jaiden Rogers and Brielle Finnin.
The Funeral will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, May 3, 2013 at Salem United Methodist Church. Rev. Keyes Pendleton and Rev. Jeff Hamrick will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bubba Greene, Matt Finnin, Carson Johnson, Josh Johnson, Jeff Johnson, and Carson Rogers.
The Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 2:15 pm Friday at the church prior to the service.
