Jack Paul Sheppard, 83

Mr. Jack Paul Sheppard, 83, of Forest City, died Monday, March 30, 2020.
He was the son of the late Grady and Callie Hutchins Sheppard, and was also preceded in death by an infant son, Danny Paul Sheppard, and a sister, Carrie Lee Ponton, and his son-in-law, Charlie Leatherman. Jack was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Bostic where he served as deacon and a member of the church choir, and often sang as a soloist. Jack had a love of sports and coached the church softball team for many years. Jack enjoyed working for 44 years for Coca Cola Bottling Company.
He will remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Bostic Sheppard; his daughters, Pam Leatherman of Catawba, and  Tammy Sheppard, Jill Perry and husband David, and a son-in-law, Robbie Cofer all of Forest City; his sister, Martha Billingsley of Ellenboro; his brothers, Wayne Sheppard and wife Sara, of Bostic, and Ricky Sheppard of Ellenboro; there are 4 grandchildren, Christopher Leatherman, Joni Phillips, Jordan Waters, and Devin Leatherman; and 7 great grandchildren, Jada Leatherman, Lauren Leatherman, Caleb Leatherman, Xander Phillips, Jocelyn "Lemon" Phillips, Kadence Thompson, and Charlie Leatherman.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 4 pm Thursday, April 2, 2020 at the First Baptist Bostic Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Frazier will officiate.
Jack will lie in state from 3 pm until 8 pm Wednesday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home for friends who wish to come by and sign the register book.
