Homer Clark Ponton

Mr. Homer Clark Ponton, 73, of Forest City, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late William and Flora White Ponton, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Hattie Almond. Homer was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and the Crestview Brotherhood. He was retired from Duke Energy.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Lee Ponton; a son, Randy Ponton Sr. and his wife Sheila, of Sunshine; a daughter, Sheila Cain and her husband Jamie, of Forest City; a sister, Delores Terry of Amherst, VA; four grandchildren, Randy Ponton Jr., Leslie DeBruler, Steven Cain, and Riley Cain; there are also two great grandchildren, Canaan Ponton and Elijah Linder.
The Funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Crestview Baptist Church. The Rev. Kevin Rohm and Rev. Frank Hoyle will officiate, and Jamie Cain will provide a eulogy. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church of Bostic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Ponton Jr., Riley Cain, Bobby Higgins, Terry Byers, Jonathon DeBruler, Charlie Leatherman, Mike Billingsley, and Frank Odum.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Monday night at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
