George Forrest Watson

Mr. George Forrest Watson, 90, of Westminster, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Hospice House after a short illness.
He was son of the late Crawford and Birdie Robertson Watson, and was also preceded in death by a son, Wayne Watson and a daughter, Sally Watson Kuhn.  He was a lifelong member of Brittain Presbyterian Church. He was a well known musician in the area, singing in his church choir, at rest homes, and music festivals for many years. During Army service in WWII, he served in the 28th Infantry Division; the 110th Infantry Regiment 1st Company, and received the Purple Heart in France. George worked for more than 20 years as an electrician for Rutherford County Schools.
He is survived by his wife 0f 70 years, Beuna Wiseman Watson; his son, Chuck Watson of Westminster; two daughters, Diane McEnnerney of Westminster, and Jeane Watson of Spindale; there are 9 grandchildren, and there are 10 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 4:00 pm Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Brittain Presbyterian Church. Rev. David Lee will officiate. Following the service in the church, Military Rites will be provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
The Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday at Brittain Presbyterian Church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
