Mrs. Gail Shepard Yelton, 62, of 4841 NC Hwy 226, Golden Valley, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Willie and Irene Hastings Shepard, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Jane Jones and a brother, Bob Shepard.
She is survived by her husband Jasper L. Yelton, Sr.; two daughters, Jessica Settlemyre and her husband Dustin, of Valdese, and Amber Lovelace and her husband David, of Golden Valley; a son, Jasper L. Yelton, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, of Lawndale; three sisters, Betty Bell of Kings Mountain, Phyllis Shepard of Sunshine, and Ellen Hudson of Golden Valley; a brother, Jim Shepard of Sweetwater, TN; two grandsons, Ian Degerstrom and J.D. Lovelace; a stepgrandson, Justin Yelton; and one granddaughter, Lillian Grace Settlemyre, due October 18, 2013.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:30 pm Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Fairview Baptist Church. Rev. David Ledford will officiate. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Elbert Hudson, Stacy Hudson, Shannon Jones, Dale Ramsey, Ed Gurley, and Johnny Toney.
Following the conclusion of the graveside service, the family will receive friends in the Fairview Baptist Church Fellowship Hall until 5:00 pm.
