Frederick E. Forbes, 85

Frederick E. Forbes, 85, of the Cane Creek Community, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Peak Resources, Shelby, NC.
He was the son of the late Howard E. Forbes and Miriam J. Forbes. Fred was a dedicated and longtime member of Cane Creek Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and director, served on the building and grounds committee and sang in the choir. He was a US Marine veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Betty P. Forbes; his sons, David Forbes and wife Lynn, Rick Forbes, and Brian Forbes, all of Arcadia, FL; a very special granddaughter, Christina Samuel of Forest City, NC; his sister, Julie Frier of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Cynthia Branscum and Taylor Forbes; his great grandchildren, Tyson Samuel, Quentin Samuel, Chloe Samuel, Kinlee Samuel, Callie Bransum, Landon Branscum, and Angelo Branscum.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, July 19, 2021 at Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Danny Camp will officiate. Music will be provided by Patsy Cook and Aaron Pruitt. Military Rites will be rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Tyson Samuel, Quentin Samuel, Aaron Pruitt, Charles Anderson, Sam Fender, and Rev. Danny Camp.
A Visitation will be held from 10 am until 10:45 am Monday in the Cane Creek Baptist Church Sanctuary.
