Forest Lee Melton, 94

Forest Lee Melton, 94, of Ellenboro, died Sunday, July 23, 2023.

He was the son of the late King Etheridge Melton and Essie Hutchins Melton. Forest was preceded in death by his wife, Mozelle Lovelace Melton; a sister, Beatrice Hoyle; and his brothers, Alfred Melton, Calvin Melton, and Dewitt Melton. Forest was a member of Wilson Baptist Church and had been a longtime employee of Spindale Mills. 

He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Cash and her husband Guy, of Forest City; his sons, Michael Melton and his wife Cindy, of Forest City, and Ronnie Melton and his wife Debbie, of Ellenboro; his sister, Madge Philbeck of Six Points; there are 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren.

The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Wilson Baptist Church. The Rev. Ted Blankenship, Rev. John Edwards, and the Rev. Wayne Toney will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Chris Cash, Austin Cash, John Hill, Avery Blankenship, Gregory Jones, and Micah Owens. 

The Visitation will be from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm Wednesday at the church prior to the service, and at other times the family will gather at the residence of Wanda Cash, at 437 Byers Road, Forest City.
