Mrs. Evelyn Hollifield Glover, 89, of the Hopewell Community, died Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Fair Haven Home, Bostic where she was a resident.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph Crowder Hollifield and Josephine Wilson Hollifield. She was also preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Johnnie W. Glover; and 3 sisters, Louise Petty, Ruby Smith, and Juanita Bailey; and her brothers, Pete Hollifield and Lawrence Hollifield. She was a lifelong member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Ellenboro High School and served as a teacher's assistant in the Rutherford County Schools.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila G. Hutchins and husband Mike, of Ellenboro; her son, Phillip W. Glover and wife Holly, of Boiling Springs, NC; 2 sisters, Myrtle Carpenter of Shelby, and Barbara Jones of Charlotte; there are 4 grandchildren, Haley H. Blalock and husband Ian, Emily Hutchins, William Glover, and Allison Glover; and 2 great grandchildren, Leyton Blalock and Hudson Blalock; and a devoted friend, Suzy Covington.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Susan Mitchell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are Phillip Glover, William Glover, Mike Hutchins, Dwayne Glover, Rick Hollifield, and Ian Blalock.
The Visitation will be from 12:45 pm until 1:45 pm Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all employees of Fair Haven Home, Bostic, and Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their love and care of Evelyn. A special thanks also to her many dear friends who were residents of Fair Haven.
