Erma Lee Melton

Mrs. Erma Lee Jones Melton, 91, of Bostic, died Thursday, April 10, 2014.
She was born October 16, 1922 in Rutherford County. She was the daughter of the late Charles Alexander and Sallie Spurlin Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman D. Melton; her grandson, Daniel L. Melton; two brothers, Russell and Joe Jones; a sister, Louise J. Martin; and her half brothers, Roy Jones, Ralph Jones, and Byrd Jones. She was a member of Walls Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Lloyd Melton and his wife Nancy, of Bostic; three daughters, Linda M. West and her husband Robert, of Bostic, Anita M. Jones of Rutherfordton, and Laura Perkins and her husband Joseph of Ft. Pierce, FL; her brother, Zay Jones of Bostic; and a sister, Kathleen Pittman of Bostic; there are seven grandchildren, Sherry M. Lavender of Bostic, Jonathan and Nathan West of Asheville, Kristin Jones of Rutherfordton, Megan Hubler of Gastonia, Cynthia Perkins of Georgia, and Brandon Perkins of Florida; there are four great grandchildren, Jesse L. Lavender, Sam and Nico Guarriello, and Aiden Borchers.
The Funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Rev. David Hawkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan West, Nathan West, Brandon Perkins, Jonathan Guarriello, Joey Lavender, and Jonathan Hubler.
The Visitation will be from 4 pm until 7 pm Friday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
