Earl Crittenden Hollifield, 81

Mr. Earl Crittenden Hollifield, 81, of Bostic, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at Hospice House, Forest City.
He was the son of the late James Clyde Hollifield and Beuna Gettys Hollifield, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Robert, John and Hugh Hollifield, and a sister, Sue Carpenter. Earl was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church and a US Army veteran, he enjoyed many good years of retirement after retiring from the textile industry.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Edwards Hollifield; his son, Roger Hollifield and his wife Kim, of Bostic; a brother, Howard Hollifield and his wife Mary Jane, of Ellenboro; a sister, Mary Dodgen of Charlotte: there are two beloved grandsons,Will and Matt Hollifield; and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Hawkins will officiate and Dwight Hollifield will provide a Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Sunshine United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rutherford County Honor Guard providing Military Rites. Pallbearers are Steve Hollifield, Alan Hollifield, Edgar Hollifield, Phil Dodgen, Randy Hollifield, and James Carpenter.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Wednesday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
