Mrs. Doris Irene Watts, 91, of Bostic, passed away Saturday, December 13th, 2014.
Born on March 11th, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Lawson Crowe and Bertha Swofford Crowe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay Earlis Watts; 2 sisters, Mildred Greene and Martha Sue Coffey; and 3 brothers, Walter Crowe, Bill Crowe, and Lawrence Crowe. Doris was a graduate of Hollis High School and a member of Hollis Methodist Church. She was a lifetime spinner, and enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Earl Watts, Ronnie Lee Watts, and Jerry Douglas Watts, all of Bostic, and Billy Wayne Watts of Gadsden, AL; a daughter, Donna Kay Vegoren of Bostic; 2 sisters, Ray Cable of Rutherfordton and Melissa Owens of Ellenboro; there are 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The Funeral will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Hollis Methodist Church. The Rev. Ned Owens will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Watts, Ronnie Watts, Billy Watts, Robert Watts, Larry Vegoren, and Nick Lawter.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Monday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hollis Methodist Church, in care of Ronnie Watts, 2728 Piney Mountain Church Road, Bostic, NC 28018.
