Mr. Clarence Beaver, 77, of Tiney Road, Bostic, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Hospice House, Forest City.
He was the son of the late Thomas and Perida Deyton Beaver. He retired from the NC Department of Transportation where he was a heavy equipment operator and later worked for Strickland Grading. He was a member of Missionary Wesleyan Church. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, baseball and basketball.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Owens Beaver; two sons, Todd Beaver and his wife Mary, of Ellenboro, and Travis Beaver and his wife Felicia, of Forest City; a sister, Mamie Beaver of Hollis; a nephew/brother, Henry McGinnis of Hollis; a grandson, Nick Beaver; four step grandchildren, Tyler Newton, Brooke Newton Earley, Thomas Waters, and Lindsay Watson; and a step great grandchild, Morgan Newton.
The Funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 20, 2012 at Missionary Wesleyan Church, Doggett Road, Forest City. Rev. Steve Beam, Rev. David Philbeck, Rev. Everett Priddy, and Rev. Wes Judy will officiate. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
The Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm Thursday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
