Charles Wood "Bass" Wright, 82

Mr. Charles Wood "Bass" Wright, 82, of Ellenboro, died Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Frank W. and Mildred McCurry Wright, and was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Ray Wright; and grandparents M.Z. and Margaret Wright, and Audie and Mallie McCurry. Bass loved to hunt, fish, do gardening, and teach his nephews how to hunt and fish.
He taught survival skills to young boys, and started the Scout Troop in Ellenboro.
He is survived by his brothers, Robert Wright of Fallston, Herman Wright, and Earl Wright and wife Gail, all of Ellenboro; his sisters, Sarah Wood and husband Steve, of Bostic, and Linda Wise of Morganton; he was very fond of his nieces and nephews, Barry Wright, Susan Johnson, Joey Wright, Tammy Lovelace, Victor Wright, Troy Wright, John Mart Wright, Rev. Travis Wright, Trey Wright, Robin Deitz, Christine Bland, and Brian Wood.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Travis Wright will officiate. Burial will be private in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Because of the his interest and dedication to the Boy Scouts, the family requests memorials be directed to the affiliation of that group, Trail Life Troop NC 12:13, in care of Corinth Baptist Church, 767 Pinehurst Road, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
