Charles Smith, 70
Mr. Charles Porter Smith, 70, of Golden Valley, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
He was the son of the late Porter and Bertha Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amber Rebecca Lynn Smith; 2 grandchildren, Caleb Blanchfield and Amanda Blanchfield; 2 sisters, Betty Ramsey and Clovie White; and his 2 brothers, Arthur Smith and Richard Smith. He was a US Army Veteran of Vietnam and a member of Golden Valley Missionary Methodist Church. Charles loved watching wrestling, the beach, and fishing.
He is survived by his daughter, Angela Smith Anderson and her husband Bryan, of Morganton; his son, Charles William Smith of Golden Valley; his sister, Brenda Peeler and her husband Wayne, of Mooresboro; there are 5 grandchildren, Casey Smith, Noah Smith, Skyler Dysart, Morgan Smith, and Baylee Smith.
The family will have a visitation from 2 pm until 4 pm Saturday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
