Charles Lawter, 82
Mr. Charles Lawter, 82, of Rutherfordton, died Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
He was the widower of Hazel Butler Lawter and a son of the late Fairest and Ida Ruth Edwards Lawter. Charles was a member of Golden Valley Missionary Methodist Church and retired in February from Parker-Hannafin. He was a US Army veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Joanna Street of Forest City; his son, Brian Lawter of Rutherfordton; his sisters, Jan Graham of Forest City, and Wilma Dotson of Kings Mountain; his brother, Roger Lawter of Mill Spring; and his 3 grandchildren, Lauren Street, Jeremiah Lawter, and Jacob Lawter.
The Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 pm Monday, July 15, 2019 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rev. John T Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow in the Walls Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Rites will be rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Eric Smathers, James Bolyard, Billy Hughes, Rick Edney, Rick Hargett, and Phil Harmon.
