Charles Joseph "Joe" Stockton, Jr., 77

Mr. Charles Joseph "Joe" Stockton, Jr., 77, of Ellenboro, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Henderson Care Center, Forest City.
He was the son of the late Charlie and Inez Bridges Stockton, and was also preceded in death by his second wife, Dianne Allen Stockton, and stepson, Tim Taylor. Joe was a member of the Friendship Masonic Lodge in Boiling Springs, NC; the Oasis Shrine Temple  in Charlotte; and Oak Grove United Methodist Church. He was the first manager of the ABC Store in Shelby, but his passion in life was selling cattle and made many lifelong friends through his vocation as an auctioneer.
He is survived by three daughters, Julie Stockton of Boiling Springs, NC, Elena Carver and her husband Doug, of Greeneville, TN, and Emmie Stockton of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sons, Tommy Stockton and his wife Angie, of Lattimore, and Sammy Stockton and his wife Stacey, of Concord; a stepdaughter, Kellie Fender and her husband Johnny, of Ellenboro; a stepson, Eric Taylor and his wife Sherry, of Forest City; and his first wife,  Catherine Cochran of Cornelius; there are 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The Funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Hawkins will officiate. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe's Masonic Brothers.
The Visitation will be from 5 pm until 8 pm Friday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
