Betty Murray

Mrs. Betty White Murray, 72, of DePriest Road, Bostic, died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Horace and Myrtle Wright White, and was also preceded in death by son, Horace Murray, and a daughter, Sarah Murray. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She served on the Board of Directors for Child Evangelism Fellowship, and had been a church secretary at several churches, and was the former owner of Sunshine Flowers. She graduated from Gardner-Webb and Wake Forest University, with a B.A. in religion.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Walter Murray; a daughter, Naomi Millwood of Bostic; two sons, David Bruce Murray of Ellenboro, and Philip E. Murray of Bostic; two brothers, Hugh White of Forest City, and Paul White of Mooresboro.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 31, 2011 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Rev. Paul White, Jr. will officiate, and several close friends will speak at the service. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Visitation will be from 2:30 PM until 5:00 PM Sunday at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 801 Mt. Lebanon Church Road, Bostic.
