Bertha McCurry, 97

Mrs. Bertha Melton McCurry, 97, of Charlotte, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte.
She was the widow of Johnny Hugh McCurry, and a daughter of the late William and Mary Brandle Melton.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Macie Melton and Mallie Owens, and her brother Everett Melton. Bertha was a member of Thrift United Methodist Church in Charlotte.
She is survived by 2 sons, Bill McCurry and wife Lucy, and Johnny Lee McCurry, all of Charlotte; 3 grandsons, Randy and wife Christie, Douglas and wife Chris, and Curtis and wife Jessica; there are 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be conducted at 12:00 pm Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Moss will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sandy Level Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Randy McCurry, Doug McCurry, Curtis McCurry, Tyler McCurry, Ronnie Pressley, and Jim Firkins.
The Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
