Benny Huntt, 64

Benny Huntt, 64, of Music Row, Golden Valley, NC died Tuesday, August 27, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Henry Sansbury Huntt, III and Celene Orme Schmallenger.

Benny was known for many things by many people during his life. Most will remember him for his gifts of music and making people laugh. He was an outstanding lead guitarist in numerous bands including Phantom Park and Rock Bottom. Benny's bands opened for popular rock groups of the 80's and 90's in venues including Carowinds Theme Park in Charlotte, NC. 

 While Benny's passion was music and storytelling, he also took great pride in his professional work as a skilled painter of both residential and commercial properties.

Benny never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with people from all walks of life. While many will miss the laughter and tall tales, those who knew him best will gain comfort from these cherished memories that will ROCK ON.

He is survived by his sisters, Cheryl Nantz (Glen) of Lumberton, NC, and Nicole Devito of Jupiter, FL; nephews Rodney and Will Nantz; girlfriend, Robin Stickdorn; Uncle Theodore and Cathy Orme from Maryland; as well as many other long-time friends.

 No formal services will be held at this time. However, a celebration of Benny's life will be held in Charlotte later this fall. Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Services will serve the family during their time of loss.
