Ben Queen, Jr.

Ben Queen, Jr., 78, of Sunshine, died Monday, March 21, 2022.

He was the son of the late Ben and Jewel Jones Queen, in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Queen Blackwell. Ben was a member of First Broad Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and a Trustee. He was a Shriner, and a member of Hollis Masonic Lodge, and retired from Aeroquip-Eaton Corporation.

He is survived by his wife, Libby Queen; his son, Rev. Tripp Queen and his wife Lissa, of Sunshine; 2 daughters, Hope Queen Toney and husband Al, of Sunshine, and Lora Queen Sibley and her husband Chris, of Hope Mills; his son-in-law, Tim Blackwell of Inman, SC; there are 6 grandchildren, Allison Queen Bumgarner and her husband Tommy, Emma Toney, Jacob Queen and fiancee Sarah Painter, Cayden Sibley, John Robert Sibley, and Erin Sibley; there are 2 great grandchildren, Presley Bumgarner and Jensen Bumgarner.

The Funeral will be conducted at 3:00 pm Thursday, March 24, 2022 at First Broad Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Chastain, Rev. Tripp Queen, and Rev. Charles Battle will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Alvin Toney, Tim Blackwell, Jacob Queen, Cayden Sibley, Tommy Bumgarner, and Chris Sibley.

The Visitation will be from 1 pm until 2:45 pm Thursday at the church prior to the service.
