Navy OS Specialist Austin Dakota "Cody" Beaty, 22, of Sunshine, died Thursday, August 15, 2019 in San Diego, California.
He was the son of Jeff and Kim Beaty of Sunshine. Cody was a 2015 Graduate of East Rutherford High School, and was a Baptist.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Erica Bissontz and husband Alex, of Mooresboro; his brother, Travis Beaty of the home; paternal grandparents, Francis and Hilda Beaty of Sunshine; maternal grandfather, Frank Self of Sunshine; maternal grandparents, Ford and Sandra Hughes of Valdese; his great grandmother, Lois Ledford of Sunshine; his 3 nephews, Brenett, Xander, and Henry Bissontz.
The Funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at New Home United Methodist Church, 544 Moriah School Road, Casar. The Rev. Eddie Padgett and Rev. Robert Bradley will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites rendered by the US Navy. Pallbearers are Travis Beaty, Christian Ahmed, Alex Bizzontz, Chad Allen, John Buchanan, and Steve Rhodes. At the grave, the Navy Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
The Visitation will be from 4:30 until 7:30 pm Tuesday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
