Mrs. Amanda Atkins Allen, 33, of Bostic, died Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Mission Hospital, Asheville.
She is the daughter of Gary and Connie Atkins of Bostic. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church where she was active in the choir. Amanda was blessed with a voice and talent for singing that could rival any other, and she used it. To say she loved the Lord would be an understatement. She always had her radio cranked up loud, singing along to her favorite Christian radio stations. Amanda spent much of her free time thinking of ways to spread the love of Jesus Christ to the people she met. She had such a heart for the young and old; spending many years of her life working in various rest homes as a registered nurse. She was always concerned with taking care of the children she came in contact with and always volunteered to help with children's activities. Amanda loved her family, both immediate and extended, completely and without condition. She loved friends and strangers in the same way.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by and was adored by her husband, Jamie Allen; a daughter, Audrey Ellen Skipper; her 2 sons, Benjamen Dale Atkins and Dutch Allen; her sister, Theresa Probst and husband Josh, of Bostic; her maternal grandparents, Clifford and Thelma Lincoln of Bostic; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Sherry Allen of Ellenboro; a brother-in-law, Michael Allen; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
The Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 pm Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Concord Baptist Church. The Rev. Travis Laflin will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Bradley Atkins, Derek Gettys, Dustin Roper, Joshua Probst, David Hardin, Tim Harris, and Michael Allen.
The Visitation will be from 1:30 until 3:45 pm Thursday at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth and Children's Funds, Concord Baptist Church, PO Box 70, Bostic, NC 28018.
