Abigail Brooke "Abbie" Toney, 14

Miss Abigail "Abbie" Brooke Toney, 14, of Ellenboro, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Levine's Children's Hospital, Charlotte.
She was the daughter of Kevin Toney of Ellenboro, and Lorie Evans Toney and Tony Trujillo of the home. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Doug Evans; and her paternal grandfather, Doug Toney. Abbie had graduated from the 8th grade at East Middle School.  She loved to read, dance, draw and collect gemstones. She was kind, generous, and had the sweetest personality. Abbie's desire upon learning of her diagnosis, was to study neuro glioblastoma in order to help others, her wish if she could not survive was that she donate brain tissue for study to increase understanding of the tumor, and that wish was honored.
In addition to her parents, she was survived by her brother, Hunter Toney, of the home; maternal grandmother, Wanda Simpson of Ellenboro; paternal grandmother, Kathy Toney of Bostic; two aunts, Deborah Deaton of Boiling Springs, NC and Savannah Evans of Forest City; a cousin, Natalee Deaton of Boiling Springs, NC and other cousins and relatives.  
The Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 pm Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Concord Baptist Church. The Rev. Scott Huffman and Rev. Paul Willis will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers are Dustin Byers, Jay Carpenter, Macus Simpson, Brian Toney, Shane Byers, and Todd Biggerstaff.
The Visitation will be from 1:45 pm until 3:45 pm Saturday at the church prior to the service.
